According to the World Health Organization, stress is a significant contributing factor when people experience a mental health condition (WHO, 2023).

In 2023, the DANX Carousel Group began a tradition of dedicating October to mental health awareness, inspired by World Mental Health Day on 10 October. This initiative was also born out of our commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being. Stress is a key factor in workplace mental health, and we’ve made it our mission to incorporate initiatives that will help reduce it within our organisation.

The logistics industry is known for its time-sensitive operations and high-pace environment, which makes mental health initiatives particularly important. By setting aside time each year to focus on stress reduction in the workplace, we can reflect on what we’ve achieved and continue to develop new ways to support our employees. October has become a vital period for enhancing our focus on mental health, ensuring we take steps to reduce stress among our people.

Aligning with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being

At DANX Carousel, our mental health efforts are closely aligned with SDG 3, which calls for ensuring good health and well-being. Reducing workplace stress is central to our approach, especially in a sector where there can be a lot of operational pressure.

The logistics industry faces unique challenges and occasional high-stress environments are common, which can affect both productivity and employee retention. Our focus on reducing stress through different initiatives and offerings is a step towards ensuring that we fulfill our part of the commitment to SDG 3.

Our initiatives

Last year, in our first year of committing October to mental health awareness specifically related to stress reduction, we launched a series of initiatives to support and inspire our employees. This included stress management workshops available to all employees, along with weekly advice and content on how to effectively manage and reduce stress.

This year, we’ve expanded our efforts in supporting employee well-being by launching our internal Wellness Hub. Available through our intranet, the hub offers a range of curated tools and resources designed to inform and help employees manage stress, improve mental and physical health, and maintain a better work-life balance. Whether it’s guided mindfulness exercises, quick stress-relief techniques, or tips for creating healthier habits, the Wellness Hub provides practical, accessible solutions that can be easily integrated into the workday.

We’ve made the wellness hub a part of our long-term strategy to foster a healthier, more resilient workforce. By continuously refining the hub’s content based on employee feedback, we aim to ensure it evolves with the needs of our team, reinforcing our commitment to reducing workplace stress. We will also continue to offer our stress management workshops as part of our ongoing focus on well-being throughout October.

Building a Resilient Workforce in the Logistics Industry

At DANX Carousel, we remain focused on promoting well-being and reducing workplace stress. These efforts not only support, our commitment to SDG 3 but also helps us build a resilient workforce.

We encourage employees to explore the available initiatives that contribute to a healthier work environment.
