In 2015, all member states of the United Nations adopted the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development. It provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet. The UN’S 17 Sustainable Development Goals serve as an urgent call to action and a foundation for this agenda.
As part of our ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) programme of work, the DANX Carousel group signed up to the UN Global Compact and is focusing on 2 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
These three goals touch upon areas where we believe our knowledge can have an influential impact in enhancing sustainable development – and where we feel that we have the resources to make a real, positive impact.
Below you can find an overview of the goals we have chosen to focus on as well as some of the initiatives we are working on to follow each of the goals.
Goal number 5: Gender equality
Gender equality remains a priority for DANX Carousel and a key focus under UN Sustainable Development Goal 5. Logistics has for many years been a male‑dominated industry, and we are committed to creating a more balanced, inclusive, and equitable workplace. We aim to improve and promote gender equality across the organisation, with a goal of increasing gender balance by 4% companywide and by 5% at both senior management and middle management levels by 2027.
To support this, we joined UN’s target gender equality accelerator programme and have completed a Gender Gap Analysis based on the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles, helping us identify clear focus areas and targets. We have also established a Diversity Panel to gather insights from across the organisation and guide initiatives related to recruitment, training, and development.
Goal number 8: Decent work and economic growth
At DANX Carousel, we support Sustainable Development Goal 8 by promoting safe, fair, and meaningful work while contributing to sustainable economic growth in the communities we serve. We invest in our people’s well‑being and development by offering equal access to learning opportunities, internal and external training programs, and clear pathways for career growth. We also work to maintain a safe and healthy workplace through local action plans, accident‑prevention activities, and initiatives to reduce stress‑related absence.
To track our progress, we monitor engagement, well‑being, and development through annual employee surveys and follow‑up actions. Through the DANX Carousel Foundation, we extend our impact beyond the organisation by supporting education and community initiatives that create opportunities for people connected to our industry. Together, these efforts ensure that our growth benefits our employees, partners, and the communities around us.
Goal number 13: Climate action
As a logistics provider, we recognise our responsibility to reduce emissions and continuously improve the environmental impact of our operations. In line with Sustainable Development Goal 13, we are committed to enhancing the efficiency of our transport networks and taking meaningful steps toward more sustainable solutions.
Our ongoing climate actions include:
- Measuring our CO₂ emissions annually
- Introducing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) on selected flights
- Increasing the use of HVO biodiesel across road transport
- Expanding electric vehicles for city deliveries
- Maintaining our commitment to ISO 14001
These initiatives support our long‑term ambition to reduce our footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future.
