Logistics is an industry that keeps the world moving – complex, fast‑paced, and full of responsibility. The industry has historically been male‑dominated but this International Women’s Day, we highlight four women from our operations who help keep supply chains moving every day. Learn more about what draws them to the industry and the advice they would give to other women considering a career in logistics.

Emelie Westerlind, Area Manager

What do you enjoy most about working in logistics – and why?

“What I enjoy most about working in logistics is the fast-paced environment. No two days are the same, and you constantly need to prioritize, make decisions, and adapt. Act – and adjust! I also find it meaningful because what we do truly matters. Logistics is a critical societal function – it keeps businesses running, healthcare supplied, and communities connected. Knowing that our work has real impact beyond the company gives me a strong sense of purpose.”

Can you share a moment when you felt proud of your work?

One of the moments I felt most proud of was during a demanding operational period where we came together across sites, teams and borders to get things done. Capacity was tight, timelines were critical, and expectations were high – and instead of protecting our own areas, we collaborated. We stood united, supported each other, and stayed focused on the bigger picture. Seeing teams support each other beyond organisational or geographical boundaries reminds me of the strength of our culture and leadership. It showed me how far we’ve come building “One team” on site.”

“I’m also incredibly proud of the internal career journeys I’ve seen along the way. We’ve created an environment where people are encouraged to step forward, take responsibility, and try new roles. Watching individuals grow into new positions and gain confidence has been just as rewarding as the operational results.”

What advice would you give to other women considering a career in logistics?

“Go for it! Logistics is dynamic, impactful, and full of opportunities – whether you’re interested in operations, technology, planning, leadership, or specialist roles. I didn’t start in operations – I came from HR – and having another perspective has been my strength. The industry needs diverse perspectives and different ways of thinking – and there is absolutely room for you here.”

Lauren Diver, Network Operations Supervisor

What do you enjoy most about working in logistics – and why?

“Logistics is a fast‑paced and ever‑changing industry, where priorities shift quickly and you have to make decisions fast. No two days are inherently the same. But with that comes a platform for opportunity and growth – both personally and professionally, providing opportunities for all skill sets.”

Can you share a moment when you felt proud of your work?

“Having been in the industry for over a decade, there are many moments for me to feel proud of. But any success is only achievable with a solid team around you. Through collective expertise and experience, we can continuously adapt to the evolving needs of the industry whilst delivering exceptional service as standard.”

What advice would you give to other women considering a career in logistics?

“Don’t be intimidated by the male dominated label – companies actively want more diverse leadership. When companies invest in women they gain stronger teams, broader perspectives and a workforce that reflects collaboration. Confidence and competence will take you far!”

By collaborating closely with my team, we managed to reduce delivery times significantly and improve customer satisfaction. Seeing the tangible impact of our efforts on both the team’s morale and the company’s performance was incredibly fulfilling and reinforced my passion for this field.”

Anja Fagaragan, Daily Operation Manage

What do you enjoy most about working in logistics – and why?

“One of the things I truly love about working in logistics is that the industry never stands still. There is always movement, new challenges, and opportunities to develop. That suits me really well, because I am competitive by nature. I thrive on seeing the results of an effort immediately, and in logistics you can clearly feel when something succeeds — whether it’s better planning, faster execution, or a solution that makes everyday work easier for the team.

I feel that I always want to be better than I was yesterday. And logistics gives me exactly that opportunity: to continuously develop, optimize processes, and create tangible improvements that you can see and feel right away. It gives me energy, and it’s what makes me truly passionate about the field.”

Can you share a moment when you felt proud of your work?

“There are actually many moments when I feel proud of my work, which makes it difficult to point to just one. But one of the things that truly makes me proud is when we, as a team, manage to turn a potentially negative situation into a really great customer experience. I’ve been in several situations where we had to act quickly and think creatively – and when we then find a solution, you really feel the value of what we do.

What makes me especially proud is that we always focus on solutions rather than obstacles. No matter how pressured the situation is, we find a way forward — and it’s in those moments that I feel we truly make a difference for people. That’s one of the things that makes me genuinely passionate about logistics.”

What advice would you give to other women considering a career in logistics?

“My best advice is: Go for it. The logistics industry offers so many opportunities, and it’s constantly evolving. It takes determination and persistence — but that applies to both men and women. If you have those two qualities, you will succeed.

I find that logistics is more about mindset than anything else. Do you enjoy taking responsibility, solving problems, and being part of something that is constantly moving? Then it’s a fantastic place to be.”
