We are pleased to announce that the DANX Carousel Group has donated €10,000 towards the establishment of an airbridge to Turkey organised by ‘Together We Help’.
The catastrophic earthquakes in Turkey and Syria since the 6th of February have resulted in a death toll that has now exceeded 47,000. The urgency for aid in the affected earthquake region remains significant. The most basic and essential supplies are needed, from food to warm blankets and winter clothes. ‘Together We Help’s airbridge initiative has been put in place to ensure that urgently needed relief supplies are transported quickly and efficiently to Turkey’s most affected areas.
The project brings together transport and logistics partners, all committed to making a difference in bringing fast relief effort to Turkey. The airbridge has been operational since the 17th of February, and is expected to transport over 1,000 tons of relief supplies in the coming weeks.
This initiative aligns with the Group’s value of ‘caring’ and underscores our commitment to act and mobilise in support of those in need, particularly during times of crisis. We are proud to be part of this initiative and to be able to use our expertise in air freight to help those who have been affected by the earthquakes in Turkey. As a company, we believe that it is important to give back to the communities we serve, and we are committed to making a positive impact in any way we can.
“This donation reflects our commitment to that culture and to our values, and we are proud to be able to contribute to this necessary relief effort” said DANX Carousel Group’s CSO, Lars Ryssel.
We also recognise the incredible work being done by our partners in this initiative, and we are honoured to be able to work alongside them. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey.
How does the ‘Together We Help’ initiative work?
Donations from the public can be submitted at any of the 7,500 DPD parcel shops located throughout Germany. These donations will be distributed through FIEGE Group’s logistics centres, coordinated by the logistics provider time:matters.
After being cleared through customs, the relief supplies will be transported multiple times a week from Frankfurt to Antalya via airfreight transport, operated by SunExpress and Lufthansa Cargo. The local disaster control authority AFAD and logistics partner DSV will then provide assistance in transporting the supplies to the earthquake areas in Antalya.
What supplies can be donated?
Together We Help has a close collaboration with AFAD, an aid organization based in Turkey. As a result, we are able to list exactly what is needed on the ground.
