Learn more about the latest initiatives supported by the foundation
Rooted in the values of Caring, Learning, and Ownership – with a strong emphasis on the first two – the DANX Carousel Foundation continues to support initiatives that create meaningful change. Since its launch in 2023, the foundation has backed projects that promote learning and development and strengthen the communities connected to our business.
We are once again happy and proud to be able to support meaningful projects and initiatives that truly make an impact — whether it’s new gear for a local sports club, funding for research, or activities that help children learn and grow.
Have a look at the overview below to explore the latest initiatives backed by the foundation.
Supporting research on early prevention of metabolic diseases
With a background in sports science, Lean Alexander Gruber is pursuing a PhD focused on how physical activity and the intake of artificial sweeteners (erythritol)influence the sugar metabolism and immune system – especially in connection with early disease prevention. His research brings together professional knowledge and personal experience, aiming to understand how lifestyle factors like exercise and dietary habits may help identify or even reduce risks linked to cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
Lean is funding the study himself, which involves long working hours and complex lab testing. That’s why the DANX Carousel Foundation is proud to support his efforts by covering the costs of advanced immune system and erythritol measurements. Lean’s commitment to pushing knowledge forward and making health research more inclusive perfectly reflects our group’s belief in continuous learning and using insight to create meaningful change.
“The opportunity to receive such support means a lot to me. It not only allows me to pursue my heartfelt project and advance research in the field of exercise therapy, but also shows me that there are companies that value scientific progress – an important step towards improving and safeguarding public health and well-being. Thank you very much!” – Lean A. Gruber
Judo Holzhausen
Based in Leipzig and originally founded in 1988, Judo Holzhausen offers children and young people from around 4–5 years old the chance to learn and practice judo and compete in internal and regional tournaments. But it is more than just a place to train – it’s a community where people come together through sport, volunteering, and a shared commitment to inclusion. The club plays a key role in offering structured, affordable sports activities for children and families—relying entirely on volunteers to keep participation accessible for all income levels. It recently expanded its facilities with the help of local sponsors and dedicated members who contributed their time and skills.
With support from the DANX Carousel Foundation, the club will now equip a new space with tables, chairs, and digital tools – enabling them to offer health-related workshops and “train-the-trainer” courses that go beyond the sport and deepen their community impact.
“This support means a lot to us. It allows us to create new opportunities for learning and connection – not just through sport, but also through workshops and community activities that bring people together. We’re proud of what we’ve built with the help of our volunteers, and the Foundation’s contribution helps us take the next step.” ” – Christian Felgentreff, Chairman of the Board.
“Longest Day Challenge” for Macmillan Cancer Research
We’re proud to support Megan Holloway in her fundraising efforts for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of the “Longest Day Challenge” – an endurance event where participants play 72 holes of golf in a single day to raise money for people affected by cancer.
After picking up golf just a year ago through a work event, Megan quickly developed a passion for the sport and now plays with a handicap. Her commitment to both the challenge and the cause has already exceeded her initial fundraising goal, with support from colleagues across Carousel – some of whom also joined her on the course.
“Thank you for supporting me! The day was a real challenge, but with help from the foundation and everyone who backed me, I got through it. I’ve only been playing golf for about a year, but I compete most weekends and try to improve whenever I can. On the day, I started at 4am and finished at 9pm – the heat made it tough, and by round three I wasn’t sure I could keep going. But with encouragement from family and friends, I pushed through. Macmillan reached out to me and said that they are happy with the amount of donations I received, and this will help support so many families dealing with cancer, so thank you again to everyone who supported me.” – Megan Holloway.
Logik’s Charity Football Tournament
We’re proud to support the Logik Logistics Solihull Moors 7-a-side Charity Football Tournament – an annual event raising funds for meaningful local causes. What started as a friendly match between colleagues has grown into a well-supported tournament, run by Logik volunteers and backed by local businesses through pitch sponsorships and donations.
This year’s proceeds go to the Solihull Moors Foundation and the Wolves Foundation, which both support local communities and contribute directly to the tournament with access to facilities, equipment, and kits. A third beneficiary is the Georgi Day2Day Quality of Life Fund, a personal cause close to the organisers. Georgi is a 13-year-old who lives with disabilities, and the fund helps ease everyday challenges for her and her family. Driven by community spirit, a love of football, and a commitment to making a difference, the tournament reflects the kind of care, and ownership that the DANX Carousel Foundation is proud to support.
“What keeps us going is knowing how much this event means to the charities we support. Organising the tournament is the easy part — the real challenge is the incredible effort it takes from all the teams, supporters, sponsors, and donors who come together year after year. We’re grateful to the DANX Carousel Foundation for their generous support, which helps us make an even bigger difference. Everyone who contributes should be just as proud as we are.” – Dave Purcell, Marc Walsh, Dave Gaffney & Malcom Ward, organisers of the tournament.
Cross-country riding at Terrænbanen Langå
Cross-country riding is a demanding equestrian sport that combines dressage, show jumping, and cross-country into one discipline. In Denmark, few facilities offer the chance to train for all three elements – one of them being Terrænbanen Langå in Jutland. Supported by dedicated volunteers and sponsors, the course is built and maintained using sustainable materials and offers a supportive environment for riders of all levels. Whether it’s children or an experienced adult competitor, everyone is met with encouragement, patience, and a strong focus on personal development.
With support from the DANX Carousel Foundation, the team behind Terrænbanen Langå will be able to upgrade vital equipment and keep training opportunities accessible. This includes offering free training days, supporting young talent, and continuing their close collaboration with the local community to grow interest in the sport.
